Doing the Poznan
Recalling life for Lech fans long before their Bułgarska Street home was upgraded for Euro 2012
Before Robert Lewandowski scored a goal in his debut for Lech Poznań, before the 2010-11 Europa League campaign that inspired Manchester City to “do the Poznan”, Lech faced a struggle to survive. In 2002, though, they returned to the top flight after two years in the second flight.
Two years after that, after the miraculous signing of two national team players, Piotr Świerczewski and Bartosz Bosacki, they won the Polish Cup, beating Legia Warsaw in the final, and the Super Cup in which they beat the league champions Wisła Kraków. These photographs were taken during 2004-05 and 2005-06.
